Hiring "Credits" Allies
This has probably been down before, you pay money for extra help. Arena-net saw this and made Summoning stones. Hoping for a money dupe, but failed. Why? Their limited use hurts them, not in party window to heal, goes after you zone plus it has poor skills, people can easily out to them. It's a complete fail. So why not make a "Hire" Merchant.
In the Hire Merchant, you will have a list of names
- Scott Robinson
- Jason Stokes
- Xia Taptarakunekane
- Chrisitan Venturini
- Jason Wiggin
- Richard Anderson
- David Dunniway
To hire a person, you use rare materials. Like for a very strong ally 2 ectos or something like 5 silk Etc. These people work for Arena-Net on GW:EN. So, have them use quotes they used. These allies will be in party window.
Every town will have a 3 or 4 people to hire, once you get them, they are in every town for hire again.
For an example on Jason Strokes.
His favorite profession is Elementalist and he likes fire magic.
His idle quotes would be:
"I made that tree right there."
"I said to add M.O.X. to PvP, but they said no."
Etc.
His skills would reflect his personality or things he likes.
[searing [email protected]][meteor [email protected]][energy [email protected]][[email protected]][fire [email protected]][summon [email protected]][aura of [email protected]][sunspear rebirth [email protected]]
To hire him, you must give him 20 silk. (Yes, 2 elites)
Another example:
Jeremy Soule
Idle quotes:
"I made the yeti's sounds, and I regret every second of it."
"Oh, turn up the music, this is my favorite part!"
His favorite profession is the Mesmer and he likes lightning magic.
[[email protected]][echo][Enervating [email protected]][Shock [email protected]][Mantra of [email protected]][Cry of [email protected]][Power [email protected]][Waste Not, Want [email protected]]
To hire the music composer of Guild Wars you would need an ecto or 2. Waste Not, What Not was something he said a lot etc.
I would think this would be a nice bonus while we wait for Guild Wars 2 and probably get rid of summons completely. I yet to see someone else use them.

Isn't HM easy enough? People are who do have enough cash to pay these merchants don't need them, and the people that do need them, don't have the cash. So this would probably be just as much as a fail as the summoning stones. You alrdy got heroes and merchants that should be enough..

Yeah, this would really be helpful to pretty much everyone. In my opinion, Henchmen should have modifiable bars like heroes with the difference being that they can only use their primary profession (i.e. no secondary skills or attributes). Of course, they would come with a default build for people who don't have the knowledge of how to make a build/don't want to bother, but for those of us who know what we want to bring for team composition, it would be a great help.
Basically, instead of this pathetic build for an Earth Ele, I could bring a [[Sandstorm] or [[Unsteady Ground] user. Even if it has to be campaign specific skills/elites, I'd take [[Unsteady Ground] over [[Second Wind] any day of the week. Also, the rest of the build is just sad.
This gives teams more flexibility even when working with henchmen but without a lot of the advantages that heroes present.

Doesn't this kind of defeat the purpose of henchmen and heroes....
the only the only thing this would do is make the game easier for those who could afford this.....

/notsigned because I am against making the game already easier then it is. Anet has dumbed down this game enough. If you can't beat it with h/h or just don't like to play with friends/guildies. If you still can't beat it just go uninstall......sorry
/notsigned on the henchmen idea(of allowing you to mod the bar) because again the game is easy enough. If you don't like their bars play with 1 other person and have him bring discord or sab way.
/signed for updating the henchmen bars. However you might want to limit them to the campaigns they are in except gwen. Allow them to use every campaigns skills in gwen. Simply because pulling from gwen only skills is impossible and pulling from anyone one campaign would be biased torwards said campaign. Yes even from prophecies.

Zodiac... Very funny, but also very creepy, especially when you accidentally called Jason Stokes "Jason Strokes."
I really think they've given us plenty of help in the form of heroes, consumables and summons. PvE has already become WAY too easy.

They only real things I'd like to see different when it comes to heroes/hench are minor. I'd like to be able to see their dp and be able to place individually flag the henchies also. Minor things, but still would be a bonus.

The last thing we need is another option to make the game easier for people with money.
It's a shame GW isn't skill > time anymore.

You can already see heroes dp. I would like to be able to remove it with candy canes. I have like 5 stacks of green cc's left and it is taking forever to use them but If I could take 3 heroes out with me while i die at a shrine would take 3x less.

The only remotely similar thing I would agree with is giving Xunlai Agents a new option, call it "Import henchman" or "Call henchman" or whatever you want, that would allow you to bring a Henchman from any outpost you have already visited. Working like this:
- 1. You must have an empty slot in your party, and be the leader.
- 2. Talk to the Xunlai Agent. And select the option.
- 3. The list of available henchmen appear:
* 3.a - Only those appearing in unlocked outposts will appear. You won't get Danika until you step in Altrum Ruins, for example.
* 3.b - Only those at your same level or less may appear. So, if you have Mhenlo and level 16, you will be able to see only the Tyrian mhenlo.
* 3.c - Only the Higher level version of each one will appear. If you unlocked Orion Elek and are level 18, you'll see only the Level 17 Orion Elek (from Crystal desert), who has no elite skills.
* 3.d - Henchmen with different builds in different regions will appear multiple times. Go to Tyria, unlock Tyrian version of Mhenlo. Go to the North, and you get the Northern version, and so on.
- 4. Now, you select the hero you want, and the price to 'teleport' or 'bring' that one to your team will appear next to the 'Add to party' and 'Cancel' buttons. It won't be too expensive, but neither too cheap, considering you may be paying a lot. It could be something like this: 2 Gold for each level that henchman has, and 5 gold per level if the henchman is from a foreign region.
- 5. If you map travel to an outpost, you'll keep for free the henchmen that already appear in that outpost, but if you have others that do not, a small message window will appear showing the price to keep them in the party while in that outpost. If you cancel the message of don't have enough gold to pay for their, let's say 'green cards', they are expelled from your party.
So, if you are level 20 and want to bring Cynn (Cantha) to Sea of Jade outposts, you'll pay 40 every time you travel to any outpost there, and if you bring Cynn (Eye of the North) you'll pay 100 for each visit to an outpost.
That should do.

lmao, i like the idea of henchmen named after makers of the game with super bars that are for hire, but the game is unfortunately easy enough as it is =(

I'd rather they just get rid of summoning sickness. Keep the same limit, only one summon per party, but get rid of the limit of one per hour. Never understood why they'd make a money sink that actually limits the rate you can sink that money. Currently just a waste of money, and even if you wanted to bring it, only one per hour? When they have a built in half hour life span in nm? And a 5 minute lifespan in hm? Fail.
